At BrightStar we provide a warm and caring learning environment that encourages children to reach their full potential. We offer a broad and exciting programme of learning which provides the opportunity for your child to extend their knowledge and understanding, in a way that best suits their individual personality and interests. Your Child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through the 7 areas of learning.
A key-person will assess each individual child through observing them frequently, the information that is obtained will be documented in each child’s individual learning journal. These observations will be used for the following weeks planning, ensuring we plan around your child’s interests as well as helping them to move onto the next stage of learning.
Here at BrightStar we strongly believe that you know your child the best, therefore we ask you to contribute by sharing information about your child’s likes and dislikes at home and how you are supporting their development.
PRINCIPLES OF THE EYFS
At BrightStar Day Nursery our staff team work closely with our dedicated childcare experts to ensure that the four main principles of the EYFS are fully embedded into each child’s daily routine, for your reference these four main principles are split into the following themes:
1. A Unique Child – Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
2. Positive Relationships – Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationship with parents and or a key person.
3. Enabling Environment – The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning.
4. Learning and Development – Children develop and learn at different rates and all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.
